DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN, brought to you by Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC), is a series of vivid light shows and installations that brighten up Downtown Halifax through the dark winter months.
DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN includes:
Light projection shows on the former Halifax Memorial Library at Grafton Park.
A 28-foot festive tree and winter-themed lights in Peace and Friendship Park.
Winter-themed window decals and lights scattered throughout Downtown's streets.
Seasonal light pole displays and tree wrap lights all over Downtown Halifax.
Most installations are not up until after Remembrance Day, with the exception of our Remembrance Day light projection show, which starts Friday, November 7 at dusk.

Please note:
Light projection shows with overlapping dates will run back-to-back in 2025 apart from November 11, December 5-7, and December 31.
Dates are subject to change without notice.
Light projection shows will end at 11:00 pm nightly.
*On New Year's Eve, the show will end at 1:00 am.
Start time will gradually get earlier as the days get shorter.
Lights at Peace and Friendship Park
Enjoy the winter-themed light installations, twinkly tree-wrapped lighting, and our dazzling 28-foot-tall tree.
Peace and Friendship Park (the corner of Barrington and South streets) will be lit-up starting , will be on display at Peace and Friendship Park starting November 12.

Seasonal Light Pole Displays
DELIGHTFUL DOWNTOWN also includes the seasonal light pole displays, featuring the festive holiday wreaths and sparkly winter snowflakes that adorn the street lights in the Downtown area.
Expect to see the wreaths and/or snowflakes on:
Barrington Street
George Street
Ferry Boat Lane/Chebucto Landing
Argyle Street
Lower Water Street
The festive holiday wreaths will be up November 12, 2025 - January 31, 2026, while the winter snowflakes will stay lit until the end of March 2026.
